Our First Day of School

An Update from Pastor Augustine

WHAT A  NEW YEAR START!

Happy new year to all great family!

Our good Lord has been gracious and has enabled us to get to another great year. To Him be the glory and honour.

Allow me kindly bring you a short update on how far we are on the construction as we plan to reopen on 6th January;

CLASSROOMS

I am delighted to bring your attention that all the learners will be occupying their new modern classes as from 6th. God has provided us with nine sizeable rooms that will give a comfort space for all the learners. We give glory to God for His provision.

KITCHEN

From under the tree to a room. And not just a room but a modern room with modern cooking stoves. Though not yet installed. ( Booked with the expert and should be doing it early next week as per his tight schedule). Ann, our cook, is very excited to occupy the kitchen. To her and us it is a dream come true. No more sun and no more rains while she is cooking. And of course more healthy meals for our learners! No more sand and worms from the tree ! We really thank God for His provision

TOILETS

LOL! From two toilets serving about 180  learners plus 10 teachers and the management to ten beautiful flushable toilets with two spacious urinal pits!  What else can we say but to appreciate God for His gift! Our learners will be very happy to find this great development in our school. God bless you for allowing Him to use you to help us get this far.

CHURCH

At the very top of the building stands a new church that can accommodate not less than 120 members! We appreciate God that as we start the year, God’s people will be occupying a new church courtesy of your help. Though still in iron sheet, we are so much happy since it’s going accommodate more and again no more monthly rent.

PIPED WATER

By the grace of God, Global Mind will be having enough water for the use. We are hoping to have enough tanks for water storage to take us throughout the week if not months. The mason already has created a space at the top roof where two tanks can stand. Though still absent, we are very confident that God will provide since we already have the plumber done all the piping courtesy of your great family. God bless you so much for your great love.

ELECTRICITY

Global Mind is no longer in darkness!

Through your support the electrician has done almost everything to ensure all the learners open on 6th to find every room installed with electricity. Teachers will have ample time doing their lessons starting very early and leaving late without any contradiction. We give God all the glory for this wonderful gift

OFFICE

The school director and pastor has now an office to operate from. An office he can give counseling to the parents and church members  without any problem. Initially this was done outside in the sun. God is very great.

THE NEW LOOK

From the old iron structured classes, separated with plywood or polythene papers today, Global Mind stands;  A two story building shining in the slums of Kayole Matopeni ready to break the chains! Itself has broken the chain of a poor look to newness! We really thank God.

HAPPY TEACHING STAFF

Not only a staff that is paid timely but also a staff that will teach in good and conducive rooms. What a great step!

Rejoicing the Second Story Completion

PRAYER REQUESTS

To really make us more complete we may need the following:
* WINDOW PANES

The classroom windows still lack the window panes and this may cause some discomfort to the learning progress. We would wish to have them fixed to enable the windows to look decent and be more durable.

*WATER TANKS

For us to be able to have enough water throughout the week for the purpose of the kitchen and toilet use,we may want at least two huge water tanks in order to curb this problem.

*STAIR CASE GRILLS

We haven’t installed the grills on the stairs cases and this may cause havoc to the learners especially those whose classes are upstairs. How we just pray that this be installed just in-case a stampede occurs.

*DOORS

Some classes lack doors at the moment. We hope to fix them soon.

*NEW TEACHER

As I had explained my earlier updates we are having grade 7 ( junior school ) for the first year. We have the room ready but we still lack the teacher and stationary for the same. Still prayer item.

May God bless you all so much for standing with us throughout and for showing your love through humanity. Global Mind shines today because God send you to do the work in Nairobi Kenya, Mungu awabariki nyote.
